September Track Night became bumper Magic Mile event!
Tonight saw another Magic Mile at the Sheepmount and, despite the rain that seemed to last from start to finish, it was a great evening. We welcomed 47 participants and lots of supporters- an amazing turnout!
Thank you to Jack from the Kendal Mint Company, who came along and shared some of their new gels with us. A big thank you to Jack for coming down and supporting the event.
Paul from Chivers also joined us and has committed to giving the Magic Mile a go next time – we’ll look forward to seeing him on the start line!
We were also pleased to welcome James from England Athletics, who came along to experience our running club and see the Magic Mile in action. It was great to have him join us and get a feel for what our club is all about.
The support for every participant throughout the evening was fantastic. Whether you were running your first mile, chasing a quicker time or simply coming along to have a go, everyone got the biggest cheers. The encouragement from club members, families and runners from other clubs created a brilliant atmosphere, and every runner was made to feel supported.
Well done to everyone who took part, especially given the conditions! And congratulations to our spot prize winners: James F, Jen, Oliver, Helen and Niki. Enjoy your sweet treats!
A huge thank you to Barry Scott for braving the rain and taking photos throughout the evening. We’re looking forward to seeing the photos and sharing them with everyone.
